Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from Monday, in which you write an outline of the events of your life. It is hardly necessary to emphasize the essential need for daily conduct to be in accordance with the instructions of our Torah, the Torah of Life (a directive for life), as only this path leads to happiness both spiritually and materially, both in the World to Come and in this world. Accordingly, this also answers your questions: you should strive to continue your studies in a school and environment permeated with Yirat Shamayim (awe of Heaven), and considering the influence of the street and so forth, you must have strong Yirat Shamayim without being affected by temptations and enticements coming from the left. Of the schools you mention, certainly Beit Yaakov Seminary takes precedence over many other schools.

Regarding your second question: at your age—as you wrote, you are fifteen—there is absolutely no reason or desirability for the friendship you describe. Not only is it not desirable according to our Torah's instructions—the Torah of Life—but even according to simple worldly logic it leads to highly undesirable outcomes. Surely any weakness in your health or emotional tension has at least partially resulted from this or thoughts about it.

To your question about how to refuse continuing this friendship—the answer is also as above: it is not that you are refusing someone personally; rather, you are fulfilling the instruction of our Torah—the Torah of Life. Moreover, if he is truly religious, he too should do so out of full understanding of the Torah's instruction. May you have good news regarding all the above.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that true happiness comes from living according to Torah values. He encourages choosing an environment filled with Yirat Shamayim and advises against friendships that do not align with these teachings, stressing both spiritual and practical benefits.
