מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו.
ובעמדנו ימים ספורים לפני יום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, אשר אז הוא יום העלי' מדרגא לדרגא, כמרומז בכ"מ ומבואר בכתבי האריז"ל.
וכיון אשר ע"פ דברי אדמו"ר הזקן (באגה"ק שלו סי' ז"ך וביאורו) ע"י התקשרות אל הצדיק, וצדיקא דאתפטר אשתכח בכלהו עלמין יתיר מבחיוהי, רוח אייתי רוח ואמשיך רוח, חיים רוחניים והרהורי תשובה ומעש"ט, וכן גם במילי דעלמא.
מובן מזה שעליית הצדיק מביאה גם לעליית כל אלו אשר רוחם אמשיך רוח, עלי' במילי דשמיא ובמילי דעלמא,
וכל הקרוב קרוב - (ע"י ההתחזקות והוספה בהליכה בדרך ישרה אשר הורנו מדרכיו והליכה באורחותיו) - קודם לברכה.
וביחוד בצדיק נשיא ישראל, אשר בהיותו חי על פני האדמה הי' בהנהגה דאב לבנים לכל אחד ואחת מישראל, בדאגה לעניניהם דעוה"ז ולעניניהם דחיי עוה"ב, בשייכות והתקשרות דרבי וחסיד ועד להאופן - דמאור ואור, התקשרות פנימי' ועצמי'.
בברכת חדש טוב ולבשו"ט מהתועדות-הילולא פעילה בשעתה ובכל השנה הבע"ל.

בכלל אין עניני להתערב בכהנ"ל, ומה אעשה שהמשיכוני בכ"ז. וכיון שעי"ז הגיעתני שמועה לא טובה ע"ד הסדרים שם וכו' - מחובתי לעורר ובכפילא עד"ז, והרי כת"ר הי' הסרסור כו'.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter. As we stand just days before the yahrzeit of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, which is a day of ascent from level to level as alluded to in many places and explained in the writings of the Arizal.
Since, according to the words of Admor HaZaken (in his Iggeres HaKodesh section 27 and its explanation), through connection to a tzaddik—who after his passing is found in all worlds even more than during his lifetime—'spirit draws spirit and brings forth spirit,' spiritual life and thoughts of teshuvah and good deeds, as well as matters of this world. It is understood from this that the ascent of the tzaddik also brings an ascent for all those whose spirit he has drawn forth—an elevation in both heavenly matters and worldly matters—and whoever is closer (through strengthening and increasing in following the straight path he taught us by his ways and walking in his paths) receives blessing first.
This is especially true with a tzaddik who is a leader of Israel, who during his lifetime conducted himself as a father to children for each and every Jew, caring for their worldly needs as well as their needs for life in the World to Come, with a connection between Rebbe and chassid reaching even an inner and essential bond—like light and its source.
With blessings for a good month and only good news from an active farbrengen on the yahrzeit itself and throughout the coming year.

Certainly my letter was received, followed by my telegram regarding the shochet u'bodek in... And I have been informed that one of them is now in your holy community. Surely they will clarify and join together etc., and what needs correction will be corrected. In general it is not my place to intervene in such matters; what can I do if I have been drawn into it nonetheless? And since through this I have received unfavorable reports about how things are run there etc.—it is my duty to raise this issue emphatically again, especially since your honor was involved as an intermediary etc.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that connecting to a tzaddik elevates us spiritually and materially, especially on significant days like a yahrzeit. By strengthening our bond through following their teachings, we draw down blessings into all areas of our lives.
