בעתו קבלתי מכתבו בו כותב ששולח לי הספרים שהוציא לאור, וחכיתי באישור מכתבו עד בוא הספרים, שזה עתה הגיעו.
ות"ח בעד הספרים, אשר גם בסקירה ראשונה ניכר שהושקעה בהם מלאכה רבה, ובכגון זה הרי אין זו רק מלאכה אלא גם חכמה.
בקורת רוח מיוחדת קראתי במכתבו על דבר רגשות לבבו בקשר עם יום י"ט כסלו, גאולת רבנו הזקן, שזה עתה נסתיימה שנת הק"ן להסתלקותו. ויהי רצון שתורת רבנו הזקן - שאצלו היתה הדגשה מיוחדת שהתורה תהי' הוראה למעשה, עד שתורה ומעשה יהיו חד - תשפיע על כל אחד מאתנו שפע התעוררות בכל ימות השנה.
ובפרט בעמדנו ימים ספורים קודם יום הסתלקות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, ביו"ד שבט, ממלא מקומו וממשיך בדרכיו, יהי רצון שגם זכותו יגן על כל אחד מאתנו בתוככי כלל ישראל.

I received your letter in due time in which you write that you are sending me the books you published, and I waited to acknowledge your letter until the books arrived—which they just have. Thank you very much for the books; even at first glance it is clear that much effort was invested in them, and in such matters it is not only labor but also wisdom.
I read with special satisfaction in your letter about your heartfelt feelings regarding Yud Tes Kislev, the redemption of Rabbeinu HaZaken, which just now concluded the 150th year since his passing. May it be G‑d's will that the Torah of Rabbeinu HaZaken—who especially emphasized that Torah must be practical instruction so that Torah and action become one—inspire each of us with renewed awakening throughout the year.
Especially as we stand just a few days before the yahrzeit of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, on Yud Shevat—his successor who continued his path—may it be G‑d's will that his merit also protect each of us within all of Israel.
