Shalom u'Vrachah!
After a pause, your letter from the 18th of Menachem Av was received, and I was understandably alarmed by its beginning—your thought to stop learning our holy Torah in yeshiva, even in a framework less than that of a yeshiva.
Based on my previous letter, it is certainly unnecessary to elaborate that this is not desirable at all—especially at your age. We are commanded to study Torah in both Nigleh and Chassidus. The Holy One, blessed be He, does not make unreasonable demands of His creations; therefore, the ability has surely been given. The matter depends only on will and choice—as it is written: 'Re'eh natati lefanecha... u'vacharta ba'chayim' (See, I have set before you... and you shall choose life).
I hope you are maintaining the three known daily study portions: Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya.
At an auspicious time, you and all those about whom you write will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit protect us.
Blessings for good news in all the above. And the Holy One: Avodah Zarah 3a.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that Torah study must not be abandoned; G‑d gives each person the ability to learn if they choose to do so. Maintaining daily study routines strengthens one's connection to Torah and brings blessings.
