במענה למכתבו ממוצש"ק, בו כותב אודות החילוקי דיעות בנוגע לסדר לימודו וכו' ומזכיר ג"כ שיש חושדים שרצונו לשנות סדר לימודו הוא מפני שיוכל ללמוד פחות וכו'.
וכיון שעתה נמצא באמצע שנת הלימודים, שבכלל אין זה נוהג להחליף לימוד באמצע השנה ומכמה טעמים, ותעמוד השאלה על הפרק בתחלת שנת הלימודים הבא, לכן מהנכון אשר יוסיף בהתמדה ושקידה בלימוד תורתנו הק' תורת חיים, מתאים להסדרים שלמד עד עתה אבל כנ"ל בהוספה בחיות בהלימוד, והרי אז יש מקום לומר שכשיווכחו שאמת כן הוא חשקה נפשו בלימוד התורה בלי מבלבל בלימודים אחרים, הרי זה עצמו ישפיע למעט הטענות וכו' והכוונה הנ"ל בהנוגע להוספה בנוגע לחיות בהתמדה ושקידה הוא טפל להטעם העיקרי שהלימוד צ"ל באופן להעלות בקדש כיון שזהו רצונו של הקב"ה, והרי גזע צור מחצבתו מסייעתו בהאמור מתחיל מרבנו הזקן אשר הרבה להפליא בכמה מספריו ומאמריו בגודל הענין בהתמדה ושקידה בלימוד התורה, ובודאי למותר להוסיף אשר הלימוד צריך להיות כהוראת חז"ל לימוד המביא לידי מעשה, ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל האמור.

In response to your letter from Motzaei Shabbat Kodesh, in which you write about disagreements regarding your study schedule, etc., and also mention that some suspect your desire to change your study order is so you can learn less, etc.
Since you are now in the middle of the academic year—when it is generally not customary to change one's studies mid-year for several reasons—and the question will arise at the beginning of the next academic year, it is therefore appropriate for you to increase your diligence and persistence in studying our holy Torah, the Torah of life, according to the arrangements you have followed until now. However, as mentioned above, you should add vitality in your learning. Then it can be said that when they see that your soul truly desires Torah study without being distracted by other studies, this itself will reduce their arguments, etc.
The above intention regarding increasing vitality in diligence and persistence is secondary to the main reason: that learning should be in a manner of ascending in holiness since this is the will of Hakadosh Baruch Hu. The very root of your soul assists you in this matter—beginning with Rabbeinu HaZaken (the Alter Rebbe), who greatly emphasized in many of his books and discourses the greatness of diligence and persistence in Torah study.
Certainly it is unnecessary to add that learning must be as our Sages instructed: "study that leads to action." May it be G‑d's will that you share good news regarding all the above.
