Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter—as usual, without a date—and I mentioned you and all those you wrote about at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, zatzal nishmaso Eden, for each one to receive what they need. May you have good news regarding them, and of course, you are included as well.
May it be G‑d's will that this also includes a change in how you see the world: from a dim lens to a good and bright lens. Even with slight contemplation, one sees that this depends primarily on the person observing and reflecting—not so much on the world outside them. There are many examples among people in everyone’s surroundings—examples for good and otherwise. The conclusion is clear [and according to the well-known saying that the mind rules over the heart; moreover, as our master the Alter Rebbe says: by nature and birth—meaning no special effort is needed for this], even those accustomed to an undesirable perspective can—and therefore must and merit—to let their mind rule. The mind should be filled with trust in Hashem, Who is the essence of goodness and Whose nature is to do good. All situations are tests; if something does not improve, it is likely not due to lack of ability but lack of will.
May it be G‑d’s will that just as we have been assured these days will be transformed into joy and gladness—and since preparing for this fulfillment is man’s present work—each person should transform their own small world and thereby also their surroundings and everywhere they reach into an environment of joy and light. As above, according to the well-known saying: full ability exists; all that is needed is will.
Blessings for only good news in all mentioned above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that by changing our perspective from negativity to positivity through trust in Hashem and inner resolve, we can transform both ourselves and our surroundings into places of joy and light.
