Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter in which you write that until now you have not succeeded in your work and in the matters you have tried to engage in, and you ask for guidance regarding this.

Based on what is explained in our Torah, the Torah of Life, among the recommended pieces of advice concerning this matter: every weekday morning before putting on tefillin, set aside a few coins for charity. Afterward, pray with a full heart to the Creator of the world, Who forms man and guides him.

Of course, the intention is that this should be part of an overall appropriate daily conduct as instructed by our Torah of Life. After deciding to behave as mentioned and beginning to do so, I have strong hope that your fortune will change for the better—even though we do not know to what extent or whether it will be immediately or after a short time. This also depends on the strength of your faith and trust that Hashem is the One Who sustains the entire world with His goodness, grace, kindness, and mercy—as stated in the blessing established by the Men of the Great Assembly. The more you increase your trust, the sooner and greater will be the blessing.

However, at first you should check your tefillin and be certain they are kosher.

I await good news regarding all of the above. We are now in the month of Adar—a month of success for Jews in all their matters—as it is written: "For the Jews there was light and gladness and joy and honor." See Megillah 16b for an explanation of this verse.

Blessings for good news in all of the above in the name of my revered teacher and master shlita. Secretary.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that consistent acts of charity before prayer, heartfelt prayer itself, proper daily conduct according to Torah guidance, checking one's tefillin, and strengthening faith can transform one's fortune for good—especially during auspicious times like Adar.
