ובעמדנו בערב ש"ק וערב ר"ח,
אשר שניהם, הן השבת והן ראש חדש, מורים על הברכה ועל ההצלחה בעניני בני ישראל, גם בענינים הגשמיים.
וכמה שכתוב, וקראת לשבת ענג, ציווי וגם הבטחה, ופירשו חכמים - עונג אכילה ושתי'. ובר"ח הרי אומרים שהם עתידים להתחדש כמותה וכו',
יהי רצון שיהי' כן בעניניו ויבשר טוב.

In response to your letter from Tuesday—which was doubled for good—at an auspicious time you will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory.
As we stand on the eve of Shabbat Kodesh and Rosh Chodesh—both of which, Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh alike—indicate blessing and success in matters concerning the Jewish people, including material matters. As it is written: "VeKarata LaShabbat Oneg" ("And you shall call the Shabbat a delight")—a command and also a promise. Our Sages explained: delight refers to eating and drinking. And regarding Rosh Chodesh it is said that they are destined to be renewed like it, etc. May it be G‑d's will that this will be so in your affairs and may you share good news.
