Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 11th of Kislev, in which you write about the difficulties in your current place and the idea of moving away, etc., although for understandable reasons I did not want to mention what is written below, since you brought it up in your letter I have no choice but to take a position on this matter. Namely: Even if it were an equal matter to leave your current place, it is not appropriate to settle in the city you mention because strengthening shalom bayis (domestic harmony) in all respects requires living with one's husband and child not too close and not in the same city as one's parents. It is clearly seen in most cases that this is not desirable, and for many reasons—most of which are not dependent on you—in your case this applies even more strongly.
Regarding the main question about your difficulties in your current place: considering that the mosad (institution) is relatively new, it is no wonder that difficulties are encountered. This naturally affects the comfort of those involved with the mosad. However, there is no doubt that if you and your husband view the mosad and your work there not as something forced or done only for the benefit of the institution or other reasons but as something that is also for your own good, then you will more easily be able to connect with those associated with the mosad and more easily divide responsibilities.
Moreover—and this is the main point—if you look at the mosad as described above, there is no doubt that this will provide opportunities for growth both materially and spiritually that would hardly exist elsewhere. One reason for this is as mentioned earlier: since the mosad is still new in town and the city has many opportunities in various areas—with proper energy, joy, and a good heart—you will have outstanding success both materially and spiritually for yourselves and for others.
The above is based on similar experiences that have occurred in other cities; their results were as described above. Therefore, perhaps from your perspective or from others who do not know about these other experiences or only know superficially, things may not seem so clear—but the facts are as stated above.
All of this has been written only from a logical standpoint and natural calculations. But no less important—and perhaps even more so—is reflecting on the truth: this work is being done in a mosad of my revered father-in-law, the nasi Yisrael (leader of Israel), upon whose merit one relies. If this work is done with devotion and a good heart, it will arouse abundant mercy from the holy one at his resting place where you will be mentioned for increased blessing and success in all matters—both general and personal.
Blessings for good news regarding all of the above. And since we are now on the eve of Yud-Tes Kislev—also blessings for good news regarding Yud-Tes Kislev and Chanukah soon to come.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that perseverance through initial hardships leads to greater personal growth when one's work is approached with joy and dedication. Living too close to parents can challenge family harmony; true success comes from commitment to one's mission even amid difficulties.
