... ובודאי למותר להדגיש, אשר אצל בני ישראל בכלל, ובהנוגע לתלמידי הישיבה בפרט, ובהנוגע לתלמידי תומכי תמימים ביחוד, כל ענין של חסד מהקב"ה מטרתו שיגרום שיוסיף בעבודתו לבוראו, לימוד התורה, נגלה וחסידות, וקיום מצותי' בהידור, ובהם בכלל גדול שבתורה ואהבת לרעך כמוך. וז.א. הלימוד והמעשה באופן שיהי' דוגמא חי' לחבריו ולסביבתו, שיתוסף בהם בלימוד התורה וקיום המצות. ואין לך אהבה וצדקה גדולה מזו המביאה את האדם לחיי העולם הזה והעולם הבא.

And certainly it is unnecessary to emphasize that for Bnei Yisrael in general, and especially regarding the students of the yeshivah, and particularly the students of Tomchei Temimim, every act of kindness from the Holy One, blessed be He, is intended to cause an increase in one's service to his Creator: Torah study—both Nigleh and Chassidus—and meticulous observance of His mitzvos. Among these is the great principle of the Torah: 'Ve'ahavta l'reiacha kamocha' (Love your fellow as yourself). That is, learning and action should be conducted in such a way that one becomes a living example for his friends and environment, thereby increasing their Torah study and mitzvah observance. There is no greater love or charity than this, which brings a person to life in this world and the World to Come.
