במענה על מכ' אשר התחיל לכותבו ט"ו באב אשר יום טוב הוא כדרז"ל ו[גמרו] כשבועיים לאחרי זה [ו]זה עתה נתקבל.
נעם לי לקרות בו, אשר קבע שיעור בלימוד תורת חב"ד, ובודאי לדכוותי' [למותר] לעורר ולהזכיר הודעת חז"ל על תורתינו בכלל, ופשיטא בהנוגע לתורת החסידות [חב"ד ו]גדול תלמוד שמביא לידי מעשה, ז"א לא רק לימוד תורה עיקר אלא המעשה עי[קר], לילך בהדרכותי' ובהנהגותי', וזה נוגע לכל עניני תומ"צ, כיון שפנימיות התורה נקראת בזוה"ק נשמתא דאורייתא, ותוספת חיות בהנשמה - נוגע לכל אברי הגוף, וק"[ל].
והרי נמצאו בסביבתו כמה מזקני אנ"ש ויוכל להתדבר אתם בזה - עפ"י פתגם הוד כ"ק אדמו"ר האמצעי, שכששני יהודים מתדברים בעניני תומ"צ, הרי זה שתי נפשות-אלקית על נפש הטבעית אחת.
בעת רצון אזכירו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"חא אדמו"ר, זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ מתאים לתוכן כתבו.
בודאי יודע משלושת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמור, בחומש תהלים תניא הידועים, ועכ"פ ישמור עליהם מכאן ולהבא.
ולקראת השנה החדשה הבע"ל ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו וכלל אשר לו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.

In response to your letter which you began writing on the 15th of Av—which is a festival as our Sages say—and finished about two weeks later, and which has just now been received. I was pleased to read that you have established a fixed session in the study of Chabad teachings. Certainly for you it is unnecessary to be reminded of our Sages' statement regarding our Torah in general—and all the more so regarding the teachings of Chassidus (Chabad)—that "great is study for it leads to action." That is, not only is Torah study primary but action is essential: to follow its guidance and conduct. This applies to all matters of Torah and mitzvos, since the inner dimension of Torah is called in Zohar "the soul of the Torah," and an increase in vitality in the soul affects all parts of the body, as is understood.
There are several elder chassidim in your surroundings with whom you can discuss these matters—following the saying of His Eminence, the Mitteler Rebbe: when two Jews converse about matters of Torah and mitzvos, it is two G‑dly souls against one natural soul.
At an auspicious time I will mention you at the holy resting place of His Eminence my father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit protect us—according to the content of your letter.
You surely know about the three daily study portions instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe: Chumash, Tehillim, Tanya—the well-known ones—and at least from now on you should keep them.
As we approach the coming new year for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all yours: may you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year materially and spiritually.
