Shalom u'Vrachah!

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from 3 Adar, during the time of increasing in joy (and your previous letters), in which you write about matters concerning the yeshivah.

I am certain that just as you have seen wonders from Hashem in the past through the awakening of the merit of our Rebbeim, so too—certainly and surely—it will be in the future. Moreover, if at first things were difficult as mentioned above, then all the more so after, with Hashem's help, you are ascending in holiness year after year.

May it be His will that each person acts in this with true joy—the joy that the Torah commands us about is, as stated by our master the Alter Rebbe (Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim siman 529:12), not to indulge in wine etc., and he says: whoever increases this increases the mitzvah of joy etc., but we were only commanded regarding joy that contains service of the Creator of all etc.—see there.

Even though there is a distinction between the joy of Purim—which is "ad d'lo yada" (until one does not know)—and the joy of Yom Tov discussed there in Shulchan Aruch, what they share is that both must be service of the Creator of all; only that on Purim it is without limitation, as explained in Chassidus in discourses on Purim.

My hope is that you will utilize your opportunities as much as possible to continue with "the wine of Torah," as explained many times in Chassidus—that this hints at "the secrets of Torah," meaning the inner dimension of Torah revealed in our generation through Chassidus—and to do so without limitation as above. May it be His will that you do this with joy and gladness of heart.

With blessings for good news and a joyful Purim.

May it be His will: A similar text was written to several others.
