Upon receiving your book Late Summer Fruit, for which I am grateful, I trust you will also send your other publications not yet in my library; thank you in advance for those as well.

I take this opportunity to express an idea that has long been on my mind and about which my wonder only increases over time: the need to compile an accurate history of the decrees and persecutions as they truly occurred, especially concerning those who are G‑d-fearing and meticulous in observing the word of Hashem. Although several publications have appeared over these years describing various periods of decrees and persecutions, aside from a very small number—barely countable—they either completely omit the part relating to G‑d-fearing Jews and their institutions or at best allocate them a minimal portion compared to what is required. Worse still, some even distort the facts.

Among these few publications, it is clear that collections like Eleh Ezkerah stand out. However, it goes without saying that this is far from sufficient—especially when compared to publications from the opposing side where events are recorded in a distorted manner.

I was particularly prompted to write this to you upon seeing in your book several articles fitting this description. It seems that some years ago there was a discussion about this matter in certain charedi newspapers; likewise, in my conversations with people from Eretz Yisrael who visited here, we also touched on this idea. Yet so far no results have been seen—or at least none have come to my attention—and as is human nature, many details are forgotten over time; sometimes not just details but even essential matters slip away. Especially since our era brings new events and issues daily that demand attention and study and consume whatever free time may exist.

I would be pleased to know if there are those working on recording this period and whether the project is progressing at the necessary pace.

May it be G‑d's will that soon the situation will change so that one can record full chapters filled with joyful content in our chronicles—goodness that is visible and revealed.
