לכתבו - בבעית כתיבת דברי הימים של השואה האחרונה ודהתקופה שלפני שצ"ל בזהירות גדולה - אף שבודאי כן הוא, אבל ראינו בעבר בכגון דא, שבאם מעכבים התחלת פעולה עד שתובטח כל השלימות הדרושה בה, ברובא דרובא אינה באה לפועל כלל. ובפרט בנדו"ד שחשש קרוב לודאי "שיקדמנו אחר" (ולא ברחמים ובעין יפה בהנוגע להחרדים).

As we approach the festival of Shavuos, the time of the giving of our Torah that is coming upon us and all Israel for good, I hereby express my blessing in the words of my revered father-in-law the Rebbe: to receive the Torah with joy and inwardness.

Regarding your writing—the matter of composing chronicles about the recent Holocaust and the preceding period—one must be extremely careful in this. Even though this is certainly true, we have seen in the past in such matters that if one delays beginning action until all necessary perfection is assured, in most cases it never comes to fruition at all. Especially in our case where there is a near-certain concern that "another will precede us" (and not with mercy or a generous eye regarding those who are observant).
Knowing your connection and interest in the education of Jewish girls—I am enclosing a copy of my letter and a list of points on this topic and hope you will find them desirable.
