מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מד' ניסן.
ולקראת חג המצות זמן חירותינו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח, ולחירות אמיתית, חירות מדאגות בגשם ומדאגות ברוח, מכל דבר המעכב עבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.
ולהמשיך מחירות ושמחה זו בימי כל השנה כולה, ובפרט שעבודת השם, כמצווה עלינו בתורתנו תורת חיים, הרי היא בכל עניני האדם ובמשך כל היום וכל הלילה, וכמו שנאמר בכל דרכך דעהו.

נעם לי לקרות במכתב כת"ר האמור ע"ד עריכת השאלון בשביל תלמידי הישיבה, שרואים במוחש איך שזה מעורר התענינות ומוסיף בשקידת התלמידים.
ויהי רצון שיוסיף בכל האמור כהנה וכהנה (וכדרז"ל סנהדרין כא, א) ועד למאד מאד וכפירוש רבנו הזקן, בלקו"ת פ' שלח (לח, ג).
והרי גם זה ענין זמן חירותינו, חג הפסח, וכמ"ש בהוציאך את העם ממצרים תעבדון את האלקים על ההר הזה, עבודה דוקא שזהו ענין היגיעה, ויגיעה ביותר, וכדיוק רבנו הזקן מלשון עבוד עורות, עיין תורה אור ריש פרשת משפטים.
במ"ש אודות נסיעת תלמידים מכאן בישיבת תו"ת באה"ק ת"ו, הרי נמסר הענין להנהלת תו"ת דכאן, ובטח יבואו בדברים עמהם.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 4th of Nissan. As we approach the Festival of Matzos, the season of our freedom, which is coming upon us and all Israel for good, I hereby express my blessing for a kosher and joyful holiday and for true freedom—freedom from material worries and spiritual worries—from anything that hinders serving Hashem with joy and gladness of heart. May this freedom and joy continue throughout the entire year, especially since serving Hashem, as commanded in our Torah of life, applies to all aspects of a person's life and throughout the entire day and night, as it is said: 'Bechol derachecha da'eihu' (In all your ways know Him).

P.S. I was pleased to read in your letter about preparing the questionnaire for the yeshiva students; it is clearly seen how this arouses interest and increases their diligence. May it be G‑d's will that you continue in all these matters even more so (as our Sages say in Sanhedrin 21a), to a very great extent—as explained by our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe in Likkutei Torah Parshas Shelach (38c). This too is connected to the concept of 'the season of our freedom,' Pesach—as it is written: 'When you bring out the people from Egypt you will serve G‑d on this mountain,' specifically service—which means effort, great effort—as precisely explained by our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe from the phrase 'worked hides,' see Torah Or at the beginning of Parshas Mishpatim.
Regarding what you wrote about students traveling from here to study at Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva in Eretz HaKodesh—this matter has been given over to the administration of Tomchei Tmimim here, and surely they will discuss it with them.
