We acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 28th of Marcheshvan, in which you write about a positive change in one of the matters you previously mentioned. May it be G‑d's will that you will also report good news regarding the other matters.

It is understood and obvious that since you are a yeshiva student, you must further increase your Torah study with diligence and consistency, and enhance your observance of mitzvos. Through this, additional blessings from Hashem will be added in all that is needed.

Since you mention that your father has the good custom of setting aside charity during Vayevarach David—a practice rooted in the writings of the Arizal and elsewhere—you should certainly continue this good custom now as well. This too is included in giving charity before prayer, whose main aspect is Shemoneh Esreh (as explained in the introduction of our master the Alter Rebbe to his Siddur). However, it can be said that one should add to this by giving even before beginning the entire prayer. And this is clear.
