בעת רצון וועט מען מזכיר זיין אייך און די אלע וועגען וועלכע איר שרייבט אויף דעם ציון הק' פון כ"ק מו"Jר אדמו"Rר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע יעדערן צו דעם וואס ער נויטיגט זיך לויט אייער שרייבען.
און אזוי ווי לויט די רייד פון מיין שווער כ"ק אדמו"ר, איז ח"י אלול שוין א אנהויב פון ראש השנה, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, איז שוין גלייך דא א ארט ווען עס הויבט זיך דער ענין פון תכלה שנה וקללותי' ותחל שנה וברכותי', און פון איצטער אן און וויטער זאלען זיין נאר גוטע בשורות בטוב הנראה והנגלה אין די אלע ענינים וואס איר שרייבט, און דאס זאל זיין מיט גוטען געזונט וטוב לבב והרחבת הפרנסה.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
At an auspicious time, you and all those for whom you wrote will be mentioned in prayer at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory. Each person will be mentioned according to their needs as you described in your letter.
And as my father-in-law, the Rebbe, said: Chai Elul is already a beginning of Rosh Hashanah—which is coming upon us and all Israel for good—so already now there is a place for the idea of "Tichleh shanah v'kililoteha v'tachel shanah u'virchoteha" (may the year and its curses end; may a new year and its blessings begin). From now on and further there should only be good tidings—good that is visible and revealed—in all matters about which you wrote. And this should be with good health, joy of heart, and expanded livelihood.
With blessings for being inscribed and sealed for good.
Summary
The Rebbe writes that requests made at the Ohel are remembered in prayer. Chai Elul marks a spiritual beginning to Rosh Hashanah; from this point forward he blesses that only goodness—health, joy, and abundance—should be experienced in all areas requested.
