Shalom u'Vrachah!

It is understood and obvious according to the instruction of our Torah of Life that he must continue learning in yeshiva with diligence and perseverance, for all the reasons given are merely enticements of the yetzer hara, which tries every trick just to prevent a person from behaving according to the instructions of our Torah of Life.

As for what you write about wasting time, our Sages have already stated: Yagata v'lo matzata al ta'amin ("If you labored and did not find [success], do not believe it"). Therefore, if he truly wants it, not only will he not waste his time but he will succeed in his studies even more than usual.

In fact, specifically these days at his age are days of happiness—meaning that if they are used properly, they pave the way for a person's true happiness: both spiritual and material together. As stated above, he should know clearly that it depends only on him. If he truly decides with strength accordingly—even if at first it seems difficult—over time he will see that many difficulties are imagined, and even those that exist are not so hard to overcome. As is well known: Ein lecha davar ha'omed bifnei haratzon ("Nothing stands in the way of will").

Certainly he knows about the three daily lessons—Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—and should at least keep them from now on.

Blessings for good news in all the above,

In the name of the Rebbe shlita,
Secretary
