במענה למכתבו שנתארך בהילוכו יותר על הרגיל.
בעת רצון אזכירו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע להמצטרך לו, ובפרט להסתדרות טובה כמצווה עלינו בתורתנו תורת חיים, מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב, שאם כל אדם זקוק לזה, עאכו"כ רופא הצריך לרפאות את הפונים אליו, והרי אפילו חוזק הגוף כפשוטו תלוי במצב הרוח וחיזוק הרוח, שמזה מובן שהרופא צ"ל בדרגא דטופח ע"מ להטפיח בזה. וכיון שכל אחד נצטווה על השמחה וחוזק הבטחון, בודאי שהאפשריות והיכולת בידו, וגם המציאות מתאימה לזה, שהרי אי אפשר שהתורה שאין אמת אלא תורה, תצוה על ענין שאינו מתאים להמציאות. ובודאי לדכוותי' האריכות בכגון דא למותר.
והרי נמצאים אנו בימים שבין חג הפסח זמן חירותינו, חירות מכל ענינים המצירים ומעיקים, וחג השבועות זמן מתן תורתנו חרות על הלוחות א"ת חרות אלא חירות, יה"ר [ש]יבשר טוב גם בעניניו הוא.

In response to your letter, which was delayed more than usual. At an auspicious time I will mention you at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, for all that you need—especially for a good arrangement as our Torah of life commands us—with joy and gladness of heart. If every person needs this, how much more so a doctor who must heal those who come to him. Even physical strength depends on one's mood and spiritual fortitude; from this it is understood that the doctor must be on a level where he can inspire others in this as well.
Since everyone is commanded regarding joy and strong trust (bitachon), certainly the possibility and ability are within his grasp, and reality matches this as well. After all, it is impossible that the Torah—which is only truth—would command something not suited to reality.
Certainly for your honor such lengthy explanation in these matters is unnecessary.
We now find ourselves in the days between Pesach—the time of our freedom, freedom from all things that constrain and oppress—and Shavuos—the time of the giving of our Torah: "charut al haluchot," do not read "engraved" but "freedom." May it be His will that you receive good news also regarding your own matters.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that joy and trust in G‑d are essential for everyone—especially doctors whose emotional state influences their ability to heal others. Torah only commands what is possible; thus, cultivating joy and bitachon is always within reach.
