It was a pleasure to receive your letter from Monday, along with its enclosure. At an auspicious time, you and your wife will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory, in accordance with the content of your letter. May it be G-d's will that for many more years you continue to participate in gatherings where words of inspiration for Torah and its commandments, imbued with the light and vitality of Chassidus, are spoken. May you also influence your surroundings in this direction, for nothing stands in the way of willpower.

You also mentioned in your letter the matter of the ten gold pieces in the offerings of the tribal leaders. Our Sages (see Zohar III, 11b, and Kuntres U’Ma’ayan, beginning of section 16) explain the repetition of "ten, ten"—that the Ten Commandments correspond to and must be drawn into the ten utterances with which the world was created. Through this, the world itself and its matters are elevated. This obligation is constant, especially for those blessed with the ability to influence their environment. As our Sages taught, the Holy One, blessed be He, desired to have a dwelling place for Himself in the lower realms; see also Tanya, chapter 36.

הזכרת גם במכתבך את עניין עשרת הזהב בקרבנות הנשיאים. חז"ל (ראה זהר חלק ג', יא, ב. וקונטרס ומעין ריש מט"ז) ביארו את הכפילות "עשרה עשרה"—שעשרת הדיברות מכוונים וצריך להמשיכם בעשרה מאמרות שבהם נברא העולם, וכך גם בעולם עצמו ובענייניו. חובה זו תמידית, ובמיוחד למי שחונן בכוח השפעה על סביבתו. כמו שאמרו חז"ל, נתאווה הקב"ה להיות לו יתברך דירה בתחתונים; עיין גם תניא פרק לו.
