I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 23rd of Nissan, and regarding what you wrote about the matter of the committee, it is well known the demand of our Rebbeim, and especially of the Mitteler Rebbe, that one must have at least one person with whom to consult. At that point, it is two intellectual souls against one animal soul, and certainly, one will then reach a good and correct decision. This is especially understandable in a matter that concerns the public, where it is even more necessary to avoid relying solely on oneself.

I was pleased to read in your letter, even if only briefly, about the activities of the Chabad Youth Organization. May it be G-d's will that these activities continue to increase, both regarding your own personal matters and those of others. This is particularly relevant as we find ourselves between the time of our freedom (freedom from Egypt in its literal sense and even from spiritual Egypt) and the time of the giving of the Torah. As is implied by the term "giving"—that it is given as a gift, and one only needs to make the proper preparation, through the counting of the Omer. As is well known, the interpretation of our master, the Alter Rebbe, is that "you shall count for yourselves" means to make it bright.

מאשר קבלת מכתבכם מכ"ג ניסן, ולגבי מה שכתבתם בעניין הוועד וכו', הרי ידועה דרישת רבותינו נשיאינו ובמיוחד של אדמו"ר האמצעי, שצריך להיות לפחות אדם אחד נוסף להתייעץ עמו. אזי אלו שתי נפשות שכליות מול נפש בהמית אחת, ובוודאי מגיעים אז להחלטה טובה ונכונה. במיוחד כאשר מדובר בעניין הנוגע לרבים, מובן עוד יותר שצריך להימנע מלהסתמך רק על עצמך.

שמחתי לקרוא במכתבכם, אף אם בקיצור נמרץ, על פעולות צעירי אגודת חב"ד. יהי רצון שימשיכו ויתגברו, הן בעניינים האישיים שלכם והן בענייני הזולת. במיוחד כאשר אנו נמצאים בין זמן חירותנו (חירות ממצרים כפשוטו ואפילו ממצרים דקדושה) לבין זמן מתן תורה. וכפי שמודגש במילה "מתן"—שנותנים זאת במתנה, וצריך רק לעשות את ההכנה הראויה, על ידי וספרתם לכם. וכפי שידוע פירוש רבנו הזקן ש"וספרתם לכם" פירושו לעשות אור.
