במענה על מכתב כת"ר מודיע מעריכת מלוה מלכה סעודתא דדוד מלכא משיחא במוצש"ק ויגש אליו יהודא (וכמ"ש אחד באחד יגשו, וזה יהי' לעת"ל כו' אז ועבדי דוד מלך על כל ישראל - תורה אור לרבנו הזקן ר"פ ויגש מד, ב).
יהי רצון אשר באסיפת כו"כ מבני ישראל דאכל בי' עשרה שכינתא שריא ובסעודתא דדוד מלכא חי וקיים (עיין זהר ויגש רז, רע"א. ובמפרשיו שם מובן שזהו ענין גישה דיהודה ליוסף), יתעוררו בהוספה בעניני תורתנו ומאור שבתורה פנימיות התורה, שבדורנו נתגלתה בתורת החסידות - ותומשך ההתעוררות על כל הימים הבאים לקראתנו לשלום.

In response to your letter informing me about the organization of a Melaveh Malka—the meal of David Malka Meshicha—on Motzaei Shabbat Parshat Vayigash Elav Yehudah (as it is written: "Echad b'Echad Yigashu," and this will be in the future etc., then "VaAvdi David Melech Al Kol Yisrael"—Torah Or by our master the Alter Rebbe at the beginning of Parshat Vayigash 44:2).
May it be G‑d's will that at this gathering of many Jews—where "whenever ten eat together, the Shechinah rests among them," and at the meal of David Malka Chai V'Kayam (see Zohar Vayigash 202a; and in its commentaries there it is understood that this is the concept of Yehudah approaching Yosef)—there will be an awakening to increase in matters of our Torah and especially in the inner dimension of Torah which in our generation has been revealed through Chassidus. May this inspiration continue throughout all the coming days for good.
