במענה למכתבו בו כותב אודות... שי' וחוות דעת הרופא, שטוב לפניו לנסוע מביתו, ושואל דעתי בזה.
והנה כפי שמתאר הענינים במכתבו, טוב הדבר אבל ביחד עם זה הסברא שיסע לארצוה"ב או למדינה אחרת, הנה נוסף על ההוצאות הכרוכות בדבר העיקר שאי אפשר לדעת מראש לאיזה סביבה יכנס בבואו למקום החדש ואיך תשפיע עליו הסביבה באם אפילו תהי' מהיותר טובות שבמדינה אלי' יבוא, אשר ההשגחה וההכרח לתת דו"ח למי שהוא במדינה חדשה אפילו אם מקבל זה על עצמו הנ"ל קבלה זו תהי' מרצונו הטוב ואינה דומה להנתינת דו"ח המוכרחת ע"פ טובה או מפני ההרגל דכמה שנים, וק"ל.
ולתכלית הנרצה הרי מספיקה הנסיעה למקום אחר באה"ק ת"ו גופא שאז רוב הענינים השלילים יתוקנו כמעט בשלימות או אפשר כולם בשלימות.
בעת רצון אזכיר את כל אלו שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע כאו"א להמצטרך לו מתאים לתוכן כתבו.

מאחר שהוא המבקש וכותב אודות הנ"ל, הנה ככל שיוסיף הוא בעניני תורה ומצות יתוסף בברכות השי"ת במילוי בקשותיו בכלל ובהנ"ל בפרט.
בודאי למותר להדגיש - שכתבו אלי, וזה שיזכירום, אותו ואת משפחתו, על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, וזה שזקוקים לברכה מיוחדת ובפרט בימים בהם אומרים פעמים בכל יום את פניך ה' אבקש.
מכריח שלא לבד שיתרחק כל אחד מהם מהענינים ומהאנשים הנלחמים, ר"ל בגלוי ובסתר, בתורת החסידות ועניני' - בהבעש"ט ואדה"ז ותלמידיהם. וגם אין מספיקה כלל ההתחזקות לעמוד על עמדם בזה (היפך הציווי דמעלין דוקא בקודש).
אלא מוכרחה ההוספה והעלי' בכל זה. וההשפעה בכל מקום שידם מגעת בכיון זה.

In response to your letter in which you write about... may he live, and the doctor's opinion that it would be good for him to leave his home, and you ask my opinion on this.
As you describe the situation in your letter, it is good; however, regarding the idea of traveling to the United States or another country—aside from the expenses involved—the main issue is that one cannot know in advance what kind of environment he will enter upon arriving at a new place and how that environment will affect him, even if it is among the best in the country he comes to. The supervision and necessity to report to someone when in a new country—even if one accepts this upon himself—such acceptance is voluntary and not comparable to reporting that is required due to benefit or out of habit over many years. This is clear.
For the desired purpose, traveling to another place within Eretz Yisrael itself suffices; then most negative aspects will be almost completely corrected or possibly all of them entirely.
At an auspicious time I will mention all those you write about at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal (may his merit protect us), each one for what he needs according to your letter's content.

P.S. Since you are requesting and writing about these matters, as much as you increase in Torah and mitzvos, so too will G‑d's blessings increase in fulfilling your requests in general and especially regarding this matter. Certainly it goes without saying—since you wrote to me, and since you will be mentioned (you and your family) at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe—and since special blessing is needed, especially during days when we say twice daily "Panecha Hashem Avakesh" (Your face, L‑rd, I seek)—this requires that not only should each one distance himself from matters or people who openly or secretly oppose Chassidus and its teachings—the Baal Shem Tov, the Alter Rebbe, and their students—but also that merely strengthening one's stance is insufficient (contrary to the directive that one must always ascend in holiness). Rather, there must be an increase and elevation in all these areas—and influence wherever possible in this direction.
