I read your letter from before Rosh Chodesh Nissan, the month of miracles and redemption, with pleasure. You write main points about your holy activities that bring the hearts of the Jewish people closer to our Father in Heaven. Fortunate is your portion that Divine Providence has placed you in this position. As is known from the Baal Shem Tov's saying, every Jew is more beloved by our Father in Heaven than an only child born to parents in their old age. From this, we also understand the great reward and, most importantly, that one mitzvah leads to another mitzvah, and the reward for a mitzvah is another mitzvah. This gives a person the ability and opportunity to add further efforts in these matters, in addition to fulfilling his own personal needs and those of his family.

I was pleased to read at the end of your letter about your appreciation for the Chabad movement. This strongly reinforces my hope and confidence that you will engage in its teachings and activities—one of whose main principles is spreading these wellsprings of Torah so that they reach even those who are distant. As it says in the Mishnah: "Let him give and let others give—he is a chasid." Similarly: "Let him benefit and let others benefit." Each of us has already been assured in Tehillim: "Im Bechukosai Teileichu" (If you walk in My statutes), which Rashi explains based on Sifra as meaning "that you should labor in Torah," etc., "and I will give your rains...," along with all the matters mentioned in that parsha.

With blessings for good news in all the above and for a kosher and joyous Pesach.
