במענה על מכתבו מה' כסלו, נעם לי לקרות בו מפעולותיו הטובות בהפצת היהדות והחסידות ועניני', ובודאי לא יסתפק בהנעשה עד עתה, ואדרבה זה יעורר בו תוספת כח ואומץ להוסיף בפעולות אלו מוסיף והולך, וכהלימוד דימי חנוכה הבע"ל שמוסיפין והולכין ומאירין גם את החוץ וחשכת הלילה, שהרי מצותה משתשקע החמה ועל פתח ביתו מבחוץ.
ולשאלתו אודות זמן הדלקת נר חנוכה, מנהגנו הוא להדליק בין מנחה למעריב (אלא שבאם לא הדליק אז מדליק לאחר זה).
בודאי גם לעצמו מוסיף בקביעות עתים לתורה בנגלה ובחסידות, והשי"ת יצליחו.

In response to your letter from the 5th of Kislev, I was pleased to read about your good activities in spreading Judaism and Chassidus and their matters. Surely you will not be satisfied with what has been accomplished until now; on the contrary, this should inspire you with additional strength and courage to further increase these activities continuously, as we learn from the upcoming days of Chanukah when we add and continue to add light, illuminating even the outside and the darkness of night—for its mitzvah is from sunset at the entrance of one's house facing outward.
Regarding your question about the time for lighting Chanukah candles: our custom is to light between Minchah and Ma'ariv (but if one did not light then, one lights afterward).
Surely you also increase for yourself fixed times for Torah study in both Nigleh (revealed Torah) and Chassidus, and may Hashem grant you success.
