Regarding what you wrote about Psalm 107 in Tehillim concerning matters of the future: Carefully consider the Baal Shem Tov's explanation on this (printed in various places)—that these matters pertain to and are necessary for each of us in our daily lives in order to fulfill our mission and purpose of creation, that is, to serve our Creator—as stated in the Mishnah. This is not so with matters of the future. For it has already been said: HaNistarot LaHashem Elokeinu VeHaniglot Lanu U'Levaneinu La'asot Et Kol Divrei HaTorah HaZot ("The hidden things are for Hashem our G‑d, but the revealed things are for us and our children to do all the words of this Torah").
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that instead of seeking knowledge about the future, we should focus on fulfilling our present responsibilities as revealed by Torah. The hidden aspects belong to Hashem; our task is to act on what is revealed.
