Yeshivas Achei Temimim Lubavitch Springfield is a Jewish educational institution located in Springfield, Massachusetts, dedicated to providing Torah education in the spirit and tradition of Chabad-Lubavitch. The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, corresponded with the leadership and supporters of Yeshivas Achei Temimim Lubavitch Springfield, particularly in connection with their annual celebration. In a letter dated 26 Teves, 5715 (1955), the Rebbe addressed the administration and activists of the yeshivah, including its head, Rabbi Dovid Edelman. The Rebbe expressed his pleasure upon hearing about the upcoming annual event and emphasized the importance of community support—both personal and financial—for the yeshivah's holy work.
The Rebbe highlighted the critical role of Jewish education as the main pillar of the Jewish people's existence, referring to it as Heavenly work as described by the Sages. He stressed the heightened necessity for such institutions in the contemporary era, noting that Jewish youth require not only Torah knowledge but also a strong foundation in the fundamentals of Judaism and guidance to live daily life in accordance with Torah values. The Rebbe encouraged the Springfield Jewish community to actively participate in and support the yeshivah, and to inspire others to do the same, underscoring that the vitality of the community’s soul depends on such education.
Concluding his letter, the Rebbe invoked the assurance of the Sages that even in exile, "the heart of Israel is awake to Hakadosh Baruch Hu (the Holy One Blessed Be He) and to His Torah." He expressed hope that this would be reflected in tangible support, enabling the yeshivah to expand and strengthen its sacred mission, and bestowed his blessings for success upon all those involved.
