מאשר הנני בזה קבלת מכתבם מערב חגה"ש בצירוף הפרטי-כל מאספתם די"ב אייר, ופליאה קצת שנתעכב כ"כ הפ"כ, ושמחתי במאד למה שכותבים ע"ד פעולותיהם הטובות בל"ג בעומר, וחבל על מה - כפי שכותבים - שבחזירתם לא היתה אפשרית בידם כ"כ להתעכב בהמקומות דרך שם עברו, וידוע מנהג החסידים בימי אדמו"ר האמצעי כפי שסיפר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, שהי' מצום להתעכב בכל המקומות דרך שם חזרו לבתיהם מליובאוויטש ולחזור דא"ח...
ד) בטח ימים אלו יגיע לאה"ק ת"ו הרה"ג והרה"ח מו"ה שלום שי' חאסקינד, בתור אחד מצעירי אגו"ח דכאן, וגם בתור שלוחי, למסור פ"ש ולהנוער ביחוד ולעבור בהמחנות והמעברות וכו', באותן המקומות שחרשו וזרעו, או שעדיין לא חרשו ולא זרעו, ושיש לעשות כזה עתה. ותקותי שיסדרו הדבר באופן המתאים ביותר, ובודאי יהי', כמו בכל שאר הענינים של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, בהצלחה מופלגה.
ה) מצטער הנני שאין מוצא אני ברשימותיהם את האברך... שי', ואיני מבין סיבת הדבר, ובטחוני שאין צריך להביא לו ראי' ממרז"ל זרוק חוטרא אאוירא אעיקרי' קאי, כי בטח גם תה אעיקרי' קאי, אלא שצריך להסביר לו הבטחת רבינו הזקן בתו"א בתחלתו, אשר העושה צדקה נעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה, ויעוין ג"כ באליהו רבא פרק י"ג, וז"ל: בענין אהרן כ"ג - והי' קושר חבל של ברזל במתניו ומחזיר על כל פתחי ישראל וכל מי שלא הי' יודע לקרות ק"ש וכן מי שאינו יודע להתפלל הי' מלמדו לקרות ק"ש ולהתפלל, וכן מי שאינו יודע לכנוס בגופה של תורה הי' מלמדו, ולא אהרן בלבד אלא כל ת"ח המלמד תורה בישראל לש"ש כו' הקב"ה מרחם עליו ונותן בו חכמה בינה ודיעה והשכל ונותן לו חלק עם הצדיקים אברהם יצחק ויעקב, ועיין ערובין נ"ד ע"ב, ויומא כ"ח ע"ב שאהרן אברהם יצחק ויעקב היו ראשי ישיבה ועל פי פשוט גרויסע לומדים.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the eve of the festival, together with all the details from your meeting on the 12th of Iyar. I am somewhat surprised that it was delayed so long. I was very happy to read about your good activities on Lag BaOmer. It is a pity, as you write, that on your return journey you were not able to spend much time in the places you passed through. It is well known that during the days of Admor HaEmtza'i, as related by my father-in-law the Rebbe, there was a custom to stop in every place on the way back home from Lubavitch and to repeat chassidic teachings there.
Surely these days Rabbi Shalom Chaskind will arrive in Eretz HaKodesh as one of our Chabad Youth from here and also as my emissary—to convey regards and especially to inspire the youth and to visit camps and transit camps etc., in those places where you have already plowed and sown or even where you have not yet done so but should now do so. I hope you will arrange this matter in the best possible way, and surely it will be—like all other matters connected with my father-in-law the Rebbe—with outstanding success.
I am sorry that I do not find in your records mention of the Avrech... (may he live), and I do not understand why this is so. Surely there is no need to bring him proof from our Sages' saying: 'Throw a stick into the air—it lands near its root,' because surely he too stands by his roots; rather, it is necessary to explain to him what our Alter Rebbe writes at the beginning of Torah Or: that one who gives tzedakah has his mind and heart purified a thousandfold. See also Eliyahu Rabbah chapter 13: 'Regarding Aharon HaKohen—he would tie an iron rope around his waist and go around all the entrances of Israel; anyone who did not know how to recite Shema or pray—he would teach them; likewise anyone who did not know how to enter into Torah itself—he would teach them; and not only Aharon but every Torah scholar who teaches Torah in Israel for its own sake—the Holy One blesses him with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, intellect, and gives him a portion with the righteous Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov.' See also Eruvin 54b and Yoma 28b—that Aharon, Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov were heads of yeshivas—in simple terms: great scholars.
I await good news from you and bless you with outstanding success in your holy work.
