במענה על מכתבו מב' טבת המבשר כי בתו מלכה יהודית תחי' ילדה בת למזל טוב בשעה טובה ומוצלחת, הנני לשלוח בזה ברכתי ברכת מזל טוב, מזל טוב, ויגדלוה אמה ואבי' לתורה ולחופה ולמעשים טובים מתוך הרחבה.
בטח קראו לה שם בהקדם, ולפלא שלא הודיע מזה, כי ידועה הוראת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ על יסוד מאורע בהוראת אדה"ז לאדמו"ר האמצעי שלא לחכות בנתינת השם לבת הנולדת עד יום שבת קדש ויקראו לה שם ביום הקריאה הראשון, ודלא כמובא בספרי מנהגים לחכות איזה ימים.

In response to your letter from the 2nd of Teves announcing that your daughter Malka Yehudis gave birth to a baby girl—mazal tov! I hereby send my blessing: mazal tov, mazal tov! May her mother and father raise her to Torah, marriage, and good deeds with abundance.
Certainly you have already given her a name promptly. It is surprising you did not inform me of it, as it is well known that my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, based on an event involving the Alter Rebbe instructing the Mitteler Rebbe, taught not to delay naming a newborn girl until Shabbat. Rather, she should be named at the first Torah reading day—not as some custom books suggest to wait several days.
I sign with blessings that you should derive true nachas from this granddaughter and from all your descendants both materially and spiritually. May you always hear only good news all your days.
