לאחרי הפסק הרב, נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מכ"ד מנ"א, ולפלא שהגיע אך זה עתה. וכבקשתו עונה אני על שאלתו שלא בתור, והיא אודות הצעת נכבדות עבור בתו הבכירה תחי', אשר היא וכנראה גם מר אינם שבעים רצון ממשרתו בקהל ועבודתו הציבורית וכו'.
ולדעתי באם רק זה הטעם לספק, וככתבו – בחייו הפרטיים המדובר שי' הוא ירא שמים ושומר תורה ומצוה, שמזה המסקנה שבתו תוכל לנהל הבית וחייהם על יסודי התורה, תורת אמת (ז"א שלילת פשרות), ומצוותי', כדאי שתתענין בההצעה.
ויהי רצון מהשי"ת המשגיח על כל אחד ואחת בהשגחה פרטית, שאיך שיחליטו יהי' בהצלחה ובטוב.
בודאי בהתאם לשיחתו בעת שהתראינו פנים אל פנים גם אני בין הרשומים ששולח אליהם פרסומיו, אף על פי שלפלא קצת שזה זמן ארוך ביותר שלא הגיע אלי מהמו"ל על ידו, ועל פי החזקה בודאי שבמשך הזמן שעבר מעת קבלתי ספרו הדפיס והו"ל עוד כמה וכמה.

After a long pause, I was pleased to receive your letter from the 4th of Menachem Av, though it is surprising it arrived only now. As you requested, I am answering your question out of order; it concerns a distinguished proposal for your eldest daughter, may she live, about which both she and apparently also you are dissatisfied due to his communal position and public work.
In my opinion, if this is the only reason for hesitation—as you wrote—in his private life the individual in question is G‑d-fearing and observant of Torah and mitzvos (from which it follows that your daughter will be able to build her home and life on the foundations of Torah, Toras Emes [which excludes compromises], and its mitzvos), then it is worthwhile to consider this proposal.
May it be the will of Hashem, Who watches over each individual with Divine Providence, that whatever decision you make will be successful and good.
Certainly in accordance with our conversation when we met face to face, I am among those listed to whom you send your publications. It is somewhat surprising that for such a long time nothing has reached me from the publisher through you; based on past experience, surely since I received your book you have printed and published several more.
