It was with pleasure that I received your letter through our friend Mr. Shlomo sheyichyeh Midanchik, chairman of Kfar Chabad, who also delivered your letter to me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your good wishes and your kind words. In return, I send you a blessing: may you be blessed by Hashem, the source of all blessings, as it is said: 'Va'avarecha Mevarechecha' ("I will bless those who bless you")—and the blessing of the Holy One Blessed be He is a blessing without limit—in all that you need and in all that is yours. This includes, of course, utilizing the energy and talents with which you have been endowed for the benefit of the Jewish people in its entirety (including those who have left) and for Eretz Yisrael in its complete borders.

Is it really necessary in your opinion that I require special explanation and persuasion that it is good to visit our holy land and to see the life of our holy people in their land on weekdays and Shabbatot etc., up close—even physically?
