התורה וביאור חכמינו ז"ל, אשר קודם נתינת התורה ציוה הקב"ה את משה רבנו לפנות תחילה לנשי ובנות ישראל ולקבל הסכמתן, כדיוק הכתוב: כה תאמר (תחילה) לבית יעקב (אלו הנשים), ותגיד (אח"כ) לבני ישראל (אלו האנשים). ובודאי אשר המענה "נעשה

הי' על דרך זה, שהנשים נתנו הסכמתן תחילה ובלבב שלם ונפש חפצה.

בזמן הזה מתחדשים הענינים בתוספת אור וכוח וסיוע מלמעלה.
ואם בכל הדורות כך, על אחת כמה וכמה

אלו, אשר מכמה סיבות ותנאי הזמן הנה כמה תפקידים שהיו בעיקרם מתפקידי

ואם הבנים, שמשום כך מוכרח חינוך מיוחד והכנה מיוחדה לבנות ישראל. שזהו תפקידו של ביה"ס "בית רבקה" מיסודו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע. ואשרי חלקן שזכו להיות תלמידות ומחונכות במוסד חינוך נעלה זה.
ויהי רצון אשר חפץ הוי' בידן יצליח להיות דוגמא מוצלחת ובנות ישראל למופת, לרוב נחת אמיתי להוריהן ומוריהן שיחיו.

To the graduating students of Beis Rivka elementary school in Kfar Chabad in our holy land — may G‑d be with them and grant them life — blessings and peace!
It was with pleasure that I received your letter regarding your graduation from Beis Rivka elementary school as you transition to the Beis Rivka high school. May it be in a good and successful hour.
We have just come from the time of the giving of our Torah, in which, as is well known, Jewish women and girls had a primary role. As recounted in the Torah and explained by our Sages of blessed memory: before giving the Torah, the Holy One instructed Moshe Rabbeinu to first approach the women and girls and obtain their agreement, as it is written: Ko tomar (first) leBeis Yaakov (these are the women), veTagid (afterwards) liBnei Yisrael (these are the men). Certainly, "naaseh v'nishma" (we will do and we will hear) was also given in this way — that the women gave their agreement first, wholeheartedly and willingly.
Each year at this time these matters are renewed with additional light, strength, and assistance from Above. If this was so in all generations, how much more so in our times when, for various reasons and due to current circumstances, many responsibilities that were primarily those of the head of household — husband and father — have now passed to the woman of the house and mother. Therefore, special education and preparation for Jewish girls is essential. This is precisely the mission of Beis Rivka school as established by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal. Fortunate are those who merit being students educated in such an elevated institution.
May it be G‑d's will that your efforts succeed — that you become outstanding examples and model daughters of Israel, bringing much true nachas to your parents and teachers.
