פון אַלטן רבי'ן, בעל התניא והשלחן-ערוך, אַז די סדרה פון דער וואָך האָט אַ שייכות צו די פּאַסירונגען פון דער באַטרעפנדער וואָך. די שייכות מיט דער יערלעכער אונטערנעמונג פון דער ישיבה ווערט קלאָר ווען מיר באַטראַכטן זיך, אַז די דאָזיגע אונטערנעמונג איז באמת אויך אַן ענין פון "בויען אַ משכן".
די אינערלעכע נקודה פון בויען דעם משכן איז דאָס וואָס אידן האָבן גענומען אַ טייל פון זייער גאָלד, זילבער, און אַנדערע מאַטעריעלע זאַכן, און האָבן דערמיט געבויט אַ הייליגן אָרט פאַר דער ג-טלעכער שכינה. אַזוי אַרום האָבן זיי אַראָפּגעבראַכט די שכינה צו רוען צווישן זיי,
און צוזאַמען מיט דער שכינה זיינען אַראָפּגעבראַכט געוואָרן די ג-טלעכע ברכות אין אַלע זייערע ענינים, סיי מאַטעריעלע און סיי גייסטיגע.
אין היינטיגע צייטן פאַרנעמט די ישיבה דעם אָרט פון דעם "משכן" און "מקדש". די ישיבה, וואו מ'לערנט דעם אויבערשטנ'ס תורה און מ'דאַוונט טעגלעך, מיט כוונה און מסירת-נפש, וואָס

און תפלה זיינען דאָך אַנשטאָט קרבנות – איז דער "משכן" פאַר דער ג-טלעכער שכינה, וואָס ברענגט די ג-טלעכע ברכות פאַר די אַלע וועלכע האָבן אַ חלק אין בויען און אויסהאַלטן דעם דאָזיגן הייליגן מוסד.
עס איז צו האָפן דעריבער, אַז אַלע אָנטיילנעמער אין דער יערלעכער אונטערנעמונג פאַר דער ליובאַוויטשער ישיבה אין מאָנטרעאַל וועלן נאָכטאָן און אַרויסווייזן דעם גייסט פון אָפּפערוויליקייט, מיט התלהבות און שמחה, וואָס די בויער פון דעם ערשטן משכן האָבן אַרויסגעוויזן. זיכער וועט דאָך יעדער איינער פון אייך וויסן ווי אָפּצושאַצן דעם גרויסן זכות פון העלפן בויען אַ משכן פאַר דער ג-טלעכער שכינה, אַ מוסד פון וואַנעט די ליכטיקייט פון תורה און מצוות שפּרייט זיך אויס און באַלייכט און באַלעבט דעם אידישן לעבן אין דעם נאָענטן און ווייטן אַרום.
דער זכות זאָל אַלעמען און זייערע בני בית שיחיו ביישטיין, צו געניסן די ג-טלעכע ברכות אין אַלץ וואָס מ'נויטיגט זיך, בגשמיות וברוחניות.

We find ourselves in the days when we read in the Torah about building the Mishkan. Since Torah is eternal, its instructions (Torah from the word 'hora'ah', meaning teaching) are always relevant. This means that Jews can and must build a Mishkan and Mikdash for the Divine Presence at all times and wherever Jews are found.
The eternal relevance of Torah is especially emphasized by the words of the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, that each week's parsha is connected to that week's events. The connection with this annual yeshiva event becomes clear when we consider that this undertaking is truly also an act of building a Mishkan.
The inner point of building the Mishkan was that Jews took part of their gold, silver, and other material possessions and used them to build a holy place for the Divine Presence. In doing so, they brought down the Shechinah to dwell among them; together with it came G‑dly blessings in all their matters—both material and spiritual.
In our times, the yeshiva takes the place of the Mishkan and Mikdash. The yeshiva—where one learns Hashem's Torah and prays daily with intention and self-sacrifice (since Torah study and prayer now stand in place of sacrifices)—is a Mishkan for the Divine Presence. This brings G‑dly blessings to all who have a share in building and sustaining this holy institution.
Therefore it is hoped that all participants in this annual undertaking for the Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Montreal will emulate and demonstrate the spirit of generosity, enthusiasm, and joy shown by those who built the first Mishkan.
Surely each one of you will know how to appreciate the great merit of helping build a Mishkan for the Divine Presence—a place from which Torah and mitzvos radiate light, illuminating and enlivening Jewish life both near and far. May this merit stand by everyone and their families to enjoy G‑dly blessings in everything needed—materially and spiritually.
With blessings for success and good news—and a joyous Purim in every respect.
