In response to your letter from the 19th of Cheshvan regarding your health condition and the opinion of the doctors: In general, between the two options you wrote about—surgery or electric radium (meaning radiation)—one should tend more toward the first option. Of course, this should be with the agreement of a rabbinic authority who is qualified to rule in such matters. The reason is that with radiation, it is not always possible to predict the outcome in advance and one cannot always be certain that what needs to be protected has indeed been protected. As is customary in such cases, the decision should be made by two specialist doctors in this field, in addition to the agreement of a rabbi as mentioned above.
May Hashem lead you in all ways that are good for you in every respect. Surely you keep the good custom of Jewish women to give charity every time before lighting candles on Erev Shabbos and Erev Yom Tov.
