Regarding Chawenson – we presented the content of your letter before K.K.S. and he said that they should convey to Chawenson: May Hashem bless him with long life, and he should speak with his sons so that they provide him with the means to print a book in his merit, as was written to him in the previous letter. One who begins a mitzvah, etc., and certainly he will also take upon himself the effort of this mission; thank you in advance.

Your comment regarding abbreviations: In your letter: About the three books you sent... Indeed, the content of the books is correct and proper and there is no reason to doubt it; however, I found one flaw—the abbreviations are numerous and many, making it impossible to discern their meaning. Therefore, in my humble opinion, one should minimize abbreviations as much as possible so that it does not appear to readers as a sealed book.

Regarding Chawenson: In your letter: I fulfilled your request and satisfied your wish, and I spoke with the elderly Mr. Chawenson about the books you wish to print, and I found several shortcomings... He is blind... He is old... He divided his wealth among his descendants... He sent our teacher a sum of dollars and has nothing left for himself. And he said that they should convey to Chawenson: See Igros Kodesh Admor Mohariyatz n"a vol. 8 letter 1276-7. Also see there vol. 6 letters 1581-2; vol. 13 letter 4555.
