בעתו קבלתי מכתביו מיום ג' באייר והקודמיו, ות"ח. ועל של עתה באתי בענין שכתבתי לד"ר יצחק שי' לוין לפני איזה זמן על דבר הנחיצות לכתוב דברי ימי השואה האחרונה והתקופה שלפני', כתובים לאמתתם של דברים על ידי חרדים וי"ש, ומוסג"פ העתק מכתבי בהנוגע לזה. קבלתי ממנו מענה כי מתענין בזה אלא שיש קושי שאין סופרים מומחים בשדה היסטורי' ולו בעצמו קשה להפנות לדבר זה מרוב הטרדות, והוא שואל את מי אפשר לשתף לעבודה זאת.
וכיון שגם לכת"ר בטח תהיינה הצעות בענין זה, הריני מביא הענין לתשומת לבו ואשמח לשמוע חוו"ד.

In due course, I received your letters from Tuesday, Iyar 3, and the previous ones—thank you very much.
Regarding the current matter: I previously wrote to Dr. Yitzchak Levin some time ago about the necessity of writing the chronicles of the recent Holocaust and the preceding period, recorded truthfully by G‑d-fearing individuals. Enclosed is a copy of my letter on this subject.
I received his reply that he is interested in this but there is a difficulty: there are no expert writers in the field of history, and he himself finds it hard to devote time to this due to his many obligations. He asks whom it might be possible to involve in this work.
Since you too surely have suggestions regarding this matter, I am bringing it to your attention and would be glad to hear your opinion.
The letter is addressed to Moreinu HaRav Yitzchak Meir Levin and was apparently included together with the previous letter. Additional letters to him can be found above (no. 798) and as referenced in the notes there.
