...Regarding your writing about the timing of your trip in connection with tzt"z—my opinion is not favorable toward those who cross the International Date Line in the middle of the days of Sefirah (unless there is an absolute necessity), because, in my clear opinion, their fiftieth day of counting the Omer would be their Shavuos and not on the same days as Shavuos for Bnei Yisrael in the place to which they have come, and this confuses onlookers, etc.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that crossing the International Date Line during Sefirah should be avoided unless absolutely necessary, as it creates confusion about when to observe Shavuos and can bewilder others observing Jewish practice.
