Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your message about moving into a new apartment. May it be the will of Hashem that 'a change of place brings a change of fortune' for good and blessing in both material and spiritual matters.
With blessings for good news and to be inscribed and sealed for good.
It is known the saying of our Rebbeim regarding 'the homeowner's comforts,' how this is something despicable (as is also evident from the description itself, that it does not refer to something explicitly forbidden), and this is the well-known 'gemitlichkeit' (comfort), whose nature is like mud and a deep mire, in which one can sink lower and lower—G‑d forbid—even within the 'domain' permitted by Torah; thus, what would there be to regret or repent?
And according to the most distressing rumor, it seems that he and others have reached the 'ultimate' [...] They are happy with their spiritual portion (in Nigleh, Chassidus, prayer service, etc.), and with their most energetic activities in spreading the wellsprings—regarding themselves, others, and their entire environment. However, since a person must always be progressing, they strive to add all possible bodily comforts and matters—enjoying their afternoon nap as if it were sweet sleep. Is descending from a great height to a deep pit truly for such an 'ascent'?
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that while material changes can bring blessing, one must not become complacent in spiritual comfort. True ascent requires ongoing effort and vigilance against settling for superficial satisfaction or comfort at the expense of growth.
