נעם לי להוודע מהאברכים שי' הנוסעים במדינה בשליחות המל"ח (מרכז לעניני חינוך) שביקרו גם במחנו בורלינגטאן ובביתו, ומסרו לי תשורתו הספר תולדות הרב מליאדי בצירוף פ"ש. ות"ח.
ותקותי חזקה ובפרט ע"פ תוכן השיחה שהיתה בינותם, שלא רק זוכר הוא גזע צור מחצבתו, אלא שגם אורח חייו הוא מתאים לזה, וחשיבות מיוחדת לזה בשנים אלו בפרט כיון שכל או"א מאתנו הוא אוד מוצל מאש וביחוד בנוגע לחוגים שומרי תורה ומצוה אשר בהם פגעה יד ה' ל"ע ול"ע והוו רובם של אחב"י אשר מסרו נפשם על קדושת השם בשנים האחרונות שנות המלחמה האיומה דשנת ת"ש-תש"ד, והרי דוקא בשנים הכי אחרונות אלו נרגשת התעוררות חזקה דבני ארצוה"ב לשיבה אל המקורות דתורתנו ומצותי' ובפרט בין בני הנוער, שלכן כל פעולה בזה ועאכו"כ דוגמא חי' עלולה להביא תוצאות חשובות וגדולות וגם בכמות, וכמובן ינעם לי להתבשר טוב בכל האמור.
בהתענינות מיוחדה שמעתי מהאברכים שי' אשר באה לו בירושה מנורה של רבנו הזקן לפי דבריו, ותודתי נתונה מראש אם יודיעני נכונות הדברים האלה אופן השתלשלות המנורה וכו' וגם אם יש ברשותו כתבי יד וכיו"ב מהשייך לרבנו הזקן או ליו"ח, ובכגון דא כל המפרט הרי זה משובח.

I was pleased to learn from the Avrechim, may they live, who are traveling throughout the country on behalf of Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch (Central Organization for Education), that they also visited our camp in Burlington and your home, and delivered your gift—the book "Toldos HaRav MiLiyadi"—along with regards. Many thanks.
My strong hope—especially based on the content of the conversation that took place among you—is not only that you remember your noble lineage but also that your way of life aligns with it. This is especially important in these years since each one of us is a brand plucked from the fire—particularly regarding Torah-observant circles who were struck by the hand of G‑d (may it not happen again), and most were among our Jewish brethren who gave their lives for the sanctification of His Name during the terrible war years 5700–5704 (1940–1944). Precisely in these most recent years there has been a strong awakening among American Jews to return to the sources of our Torah and its mitzvos—especially among youth. Therefore, every action in this area—and all the more so a living example—can bring significant and great results, even quantitatively. Of course, I would be pleased to hear good news about all this.
I listened with special interest to what the Avrechim said—that according to your words you inherited a menorah from Rabbeinu HaZaken (the Alter Rebbe). I thank you in advance if you will inform me about the accuracy of these matters and how the menorah was passed down, etc., as well as whether you possess any manuscripts or similar items connected to Rabbeinu HaZaken or his son-in-law. In such matters, every detail is praiseworthy.
