במענה למכתבו מיום הראשון ט' שבט, בו כותב בהנוגע לדרשה ברבים על עניני קבלה, ואשר אמרו לו שכן נוהגים חסידי ליובאוויטש.
והנה בימינו המושג קבלה, נעשה רחב יותר מדי, וכמובן שאין אחד יכול להיות אחראי על מה שהשני רוצה להכניס בתואר האמור.
ובהנוגע לפועל, אנשי ליובאוויטש וחב"ד מתעסקים בהפצת עניני פנימיות התורה, שבדורנו נתגלתה בתורת החסידות, שבה מתבארים בכמה וכמה מקומות ענינים המבוארים בספרי קבלה, וענין האמור הוא מעבודת והשתדלות היסודיות של אנשי חב"ד, כמצוה עלינו מרבותינו נשיאינו שמסרו נפשם על הפצת תורת חסידות חב"ד, שהיא היא תורת הבעל שם טוב, וכמה סיפורים בזה בהנוגע לגודל ההתמסרות שלהם עצמם וגם מה שדרשו מאלו הנשמעים לקולם, והביעו תקותם הכי חזקה, אשר יבוא יום הבהיר ואור, אשר תעשה תורה זו נחלת כל בני ישראל כולם מבלי יוצא מן הכלל, ונחלה בהנוגע לתורה הרי פירושה, לימוד באופן דהבנה והשגה, וככל חלקי התורה, לימוד המביא לידי מעשה.
לפלא הדבר, שכנראה מסגנון מכתבו, אין ידוע לו מפעולה האמורה ותקותי חזקה, אשר כשיכיר פרטי הדברים על בורים ופנימיותם, הרי ישתתף ויכנס במחנה אלו המתמסרים להפצת מעינות תורת החסידות ועד שיגיעו גם חוצה, וינצל כח השפעתו בכל מקום שידו מגעת לתכלית האמורה והשי"ת יצליחו.

In response to your letter from Sunday, the 9th of Shevat, in which you write regarding a public lecture on matters of Kabbalah, and that you were told this is the practice among Lubavitch chassidim.
In our times, the concept of "Kabbalah" has become far too broad, and obviously no one can be responsible for what another person wishes to include under that term.
Practically speaking, Lubavitch and Chabad chassidim are involved in spreading the inner dimensions of Torah, which in our generation has been revealed through the teachings of Chassidus. In many places within these teachings are explained matters also discussed in Kabbalistic works. This activity is one of the fundamental efforts and missions of Chabad chassidim, as commanded by our Rebbeim—our leaders—who gave their lives for spreading the teachings of Chabad Chassidus. This is the Torah of the Baal Shem Tov. There are many stories about their great self-sacrifice and also about what they demanded from those who listened to them. They expressed their strongest hope that a bright and luminous day will come when this Torah will become the inheritance of all Jews without exception. An inheritance regarding Torah means study in a way of understanding and comprehension—and as with all parts of Torah, learning that leads to action.
It is surprising that, judging from your letter's style, you seem unaware of this activity. My strong hope is that once you recognize these details fully and their inner meaning, you will join those dedicated to spreading the wellsprings of Chassidus until they reach even "outside," utilizing your influence wherever possible for this purpose. May Hashem grant you success.
