In response to your letter from the 27th of Cheshvan, and the previous one.

At an auspicious time, you and your family will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal (may his merit protect us), each one for what they need according to what you wrote. May it be G‑d's will that you share good news in all the areas about which you write.

Especially since today is a special day—Eve of Rosh Chodesh Kislev—as explained in Chassidic teachings regarding Rosh Hashanah, and similarly regarding Rosh Chodesh: it is called "Rosh" (head) and not "beginning," even though it would seem it should be called "beginning." Just as the head contains the vitality for all limbs, so too is it with Rosh Hashanah regarding the days of the year, and with Rosh Chodesh regarding the days of the month. This means that this day also contains within it Yud Tes Kislev—the bright day—and the upcoming days of Chanukah, days of victory for light and holiness. However, only after this do these qualities become manifest in actual days.

May it be G‑d's will that in all your matters it should be as stated above, and may you share good news—good that is visible and revealed. Your study of Chassidus—which in our generation reveals the inner light of Torah—should serve as a conduit and vessel for drawing down and receiving blessings from the Giver of Torah as mentioned.

You surely know about the three well-known daily study portions: Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya; at least from now on you should keep to them.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that just as Rosh Chodesh contains within it all future spiritual potential for the month—including holidays like Yud Tes Kislev and Chanukah—so too should one's study of Chassidus serve as a channel for revealed blessings in every area of life.
