Shalom u'Vrachah!

After a prolonged interruption your letter from the 27th of Menachem Av arrived with the good news that you are strengthening yourself to maintain the daily study of Chitas and also regarding the other matters you wrote about. Most importantly, concerning diligent and consistent learning—about which it is said: "Great is study for it leads to action"—through this comes strengthening in all areas of mitzvos. Especially regarding what you wrote about the beard: it is well known the instruction of the tzt"z based on the words of the holy Zohar (and as explained by the tzt"z in his commentary on Tehillim on the verse VeHu Rachum), that by guarding the hairs of one's beard one draws down from the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy—which are abundant mercies (see there in Yahal Or's supplement to Tehillim).

Regarding what you wrote about overcoming that known matter: it is well known that one must strive to think about it as little as possible—not even for its rectification. Since a person's mind is always occupied, one should channel thought into what one is learning or doing. Also, charity should be given in several installments at auspicious times (among them on weekdays before davening in the morning and before Minchah). In general, increase your involvement with words of Torah and prayer and act with influence in education according to holiness—according to your situation—but this should not disrupt your yeshivah schedule or health.

May Hashem help you to report good news in all of the above very soon.

With blessings for a good inscription and sealing.
