...In his question regarding a contradiction between what is brought in "Hayom Yom" and Siman Alef of Shulchan Aruch, it is understood that one should follow what is written in "Hayom Yom," since it is the later authority.
Regarding the Chabad custom of saying "Leshem Yichud"—see Shaar HaKolel (on the Siddur), chapter 6. [But what is written there that this is not found in Pri Etz Chaim—he overlooked that it is indeed found there in the addenda at the end of part one.] Also see there at the end of the section on Zemiros.
