Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from Motzaei Shabbat Kodesh, regarding your question about your current workplace where layoffs are happening but your turn has not yet come, and you ask whether you should resign yourself in order to receive severance pay and settle debts. It is somewhat surprising because, as it seems in Eretz HaKodesh Tivuach (the Holy Land), anyone who has held a position for years tries to keep it and is not eager for severance pay. Surely you will not lose the severance even after some time.
By the way, you mention that your wife did not want you to be involved in the field of education of Atar HaKodesh (the holy crown), which is also surprising. Certainly, you will explain her reasoning in your next letter.
Regarding what you wrote about participating in a third of the travel expenses—they will participate without a vow (bli neder), although it is indeed surprising that apparently the financial situation in Tzeirei Agudas Chassidei Chabad remains at the same point as several years ago with no improvement (and perhaps even the opposite). The surprise is even greater considering that several organizations in Eretz HaKodesh Tivuach that had no support at their founding have nonetheless become self-sustaining—even financially. But unfortunately, for years now Tzeirei Agudas Chassidei Chabad has had others cover their expenses with no progress, etc.
Perhaps one explanation is that since they know there is an easy source of money without effort—why try to obtain it otherwise? But clearly this is not justified for two reasons: first, if they would strive to obtain resources themselves they could greatly expand their activities; second and most importantly—they must realize that the funds taken by Tzeirei Agudas Chassidei Chabad, which could already have been obtained through their own efforts, are lacking for other essential matters.
It is understood that the above paragraph applies to all members of Tzeirei Agudas Chassidei Chabad—not only in Tel Aviv but also in other branches [also regarding Nshei U'Bnos Chabad organizations—even though there is some merit based on our sages' teaching that a proper woman acts according to her husband's wishes].
Blessings for good news,
In the name of the Lubavitcher Rebbe shlita,
