Havavach iy"a nu"n oseik b'tzt"z mo"h Chaim Eliezer
Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the days of restriction with the pan to be read at an auspicious time at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal l'havdil bein chaim l'chaim zichrono tzaddik v'kadosh livracha.
It is surprising that you do not mention anything regarding your involvement in fulfilling your mission of spreading the wellsprings outward. Surely, if before the giving of the Torah for the first time—that is, in the year 2448—the preparation was in several ways, then after Matan Torah, the main preparation for receiving the Torah is through spreading Torah study. As it is written: Yehiv Chochmata L'Chakimin (He gives wisdom to the wise) (Daniel 2:21), and in its inner meaning this is related to Sefiras HaOmer in the year 2448. As explained by the Ran at the end of Pesachim in the name of Aggadot Chazal, that counting then was an indication of their longing to receive the Torah; from that Mishnah it is proven that counting expresses a longing for receiving the Torah—which now means actual Torah study. This should be understood well.
And since we are now coming from Shavuos, Zman Matan Toraseinu, about which it is said "charut al luchot" (engraved on tablets)—do not read charut (engraved) but cheirut (freedom), freedom from all distracting matters—may you share good news of visible and revealed good in all matters you wrote about in your letter and in your pan.
With blessings for health and for good news.
Summary
The Rebbe emphasizes that after Matan Torah, preparing to receive the Torah centers on spreading and studying Torah. He encourages ongoing dedication to this mission and assures blessings for health and revealed good as a result.
