Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive your letter from "miT"L leMivnei Yisrael" (to the number of Bnei Yisrael), in which you write that you feel improvement in your health and strength. May it be G‑d's will that you soon return to your full strength in both the literal and deeper sense, as explained in the discourse "Maskil LeEitan" by our master the Alter Rebbe (printed in Kuntres Limud HaChassidus).
We are now approaching the days of receiving the Torah, which brings healing to the world in general and especially to Bnei Yisrael who receive the Torah. As told in Mechilta, at the time of receiving the Torah all Israel were healthy and whole. And as is known, receiving the Torah—in particular days—is something that happens every day, as expressed by "noten haTorah" (the Giver of the Torah) in present tense. It is understood that at all times a Jew must be healthy and whole. In the words of Rambam: being physically healthy and whole is part of serving Hashem...
Certainly there is no need to remind you to influence your aforementioned son to set fixed times for studying the inner dimension of Torah which has been revealed in our generation through Chassidus. For with every increase in Torah and mitzvos—and all the more so with an increase in learning Pnimiyus HaTorah (called in Zohar HaKadosh "Nishmata d'Oraita," soul of Torah)—there is a multiplied increase in Hashem's blessings for everything needed both for bodily life and soul life.
Blessings for good news. In the words of my revered father-in-law, may we receive the Torah with joy and inwardness.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true health—both physical and spiritual—is connected to receiving the Torah daily. By increasing our study of Chassidus, we draw down greater blessings into all aspects of our lives.
