Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 2nd of Iyar, and it pleased me to read about your joy and that of your family regarding your son Yosef shlita reaching the age of mitzvos.
May it be G‑d's will that he accept upon himself the yoke of Torah and mitzvah, and as a foundation for this—the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven. As our Sages instruct regarding this order: when done in this sequence, it endures. As the Mishnah states: first accept upon oneself the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven, then accept upon oneself the yoke of mitzvos.
The wording of the Mishnah is very precise. We learn from this that fulfilling a mitzvah must be approached as a yoke. Just as at the original acceptance of Torah, it was specifically through saying "Na'aseh v'Nishma" ("We will do and we will hear") first. Yet even with all this, one is not assured until he first accepts the yoke of Heaven—that is, a total surrender and giving over like a servant who simply accepts his master's yoke with complete self-nullification. Then there is permanence in accepting the yoke in every specific matter and every particular mitzvah.
Since you have merited that Divine Providence has placed you in a life situation where you influence youth education—and you hold sway over tens or hundreds to guide them on the good and upright path—the royal path, that of Melech Malchei HaMelachim Hakadosh Baruch Hu (the King of kings, the Holy One blessed be He), as taught by our Torah of truth and life—then according to G‑d's measure (which is measure for measure but many times over), your good reward will be fulfilled: to enjoy abundant true nachas—traditional Jewish nachas—together with your wife and entire family.
With honor and blessings for mazal tov for your simchah—the Bar Mitzvah—and with blessings for success in your work—holy work—guiding Jewish boys and girls on a path that brings their hearts closer to our Father in Heaven, also in their daily lives. Awaiting good news.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that enduring commitment to Torah begins with accepting the yoke of Heaven before mitzvos. He encourages those guiding Jewish youth to recognize their profound impact and blesses them with true Jewish nachas from their families and holy work.
