נעם לי לקבל מכתבו, ראשי פרקים מהנעשה אתו ופעולותיו בקדש מעת הי' כאן, ולפלא שאינו מזכיר איך עבר ענין הש"ץ שלו, אף שתקותי חזקה שהי' על הצד היותר טוב, ובטח מלא השי"ת הבטחתו וע"פ המובן מאגרת התשובה פרק א'[1] שנתקבל תפלתו בתוך כלל ישראל להמשיך שנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.
ובמ"ש שאין כסף, לפלא כתיבה זו, שהרי כיון שהקב"ה אומר לי הכסף ולי הזהב, בודאי שלא יחסר ח"ו ממון לכל המצטרך לו ולב"ב שיחיו בענינים הכללים ובענינים הפרטים, וההוכחה על זה היא כפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שהעבר מלמד את העתיד, וכמו שראה חסדי השי"ת בעבר בודאי תקוים הבטחת חז"ל שכל המטיבין לו הוא לארך ימים ושנים, ובודאי גם מצדם יחזיקו ויחזקו הצנורות פתוחים ועוד ירחיבום ויגדילום. ופשוט שכוונתי לעניני תורה ומצות.

I was pleased to receive your letter with a summary of what has transpired with you and your activities in holiness since you were here. It is surprising that you did not mention how your role as shaliach tzibbur went, though I strongly hope it went in the best possible way. Surely Hashem fulfilled His promise, and as understood from Iggeres HaTeshuvah chapter 1, your prayer was accepted among all of Israel to draw down a good and sweet year both materially and spiritually.
Regarding what you wrote about lacking money, this is surprising to write, for since the Holy One blessed be He says 'Mine is the silver and Mine is the gold,' surely there will not be, G‑d forbid, a lack of funds for anyone who needs it for themselves and their family in both general and specific matters. The proof for this is as my revered father-in-law the Rebbe would say: 'The past teaches about the future.' Just as you have seen Hashem's kindnesses in the past, certainly the assurance of our Sages will be fulfilled—that all who are treated well by Him will have long days and years. Surely on your part as well you will maintain and strengthen the channels so they remain open—and even broaden and enlarge them. Of course my intention is regarding matters of Torah and mitzvos.
