מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו ממחרת יום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע נשיא ישראל, ובעת רצון אזכירו עוד הפעם וכל ב"ב שיחיו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע להמצטרך להם מתאים לכתבו.
ובמה שכותב אודות חילוק מעות לאחר מאה ועשרים שנה.
כבר ידוע דברי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר בכמה משיחותיו שאין דעת השכל נוחה מסדרים כאלו, כי כל ענין טוב מפני מה ידחו אותו עד לאחר כמה עשיריות בשנים, והשי"ת יאריך ימי ושנות כאו"א בתכ"י ביותר, בה בשעה שאפשר לעשות הענין טוב בעצמו ובחיים חיותו בעלמא דין, ועי"ז יתוסף עוד באריכות ימים ושנים וכידוע סגולת הצדקה והטוב בזה.
ואף שידועה ההוראה דהמבזבז על יבזבז יותר מחומש משא"כ לאחר מאה ועשרים שנה, - הנה מלבד שהחומש הרי אפשר לבזבז לכל הדיעות, הרי נוסף על זה כמה אופנים ישנם שמותר וגם מצוה רבה וחובה לתת צדקה יותר מחלק חומש וכמו שהובאו פרטי הדברים באחרונים, ומקצתם נמצאים ג"כ באגרת הקדש לרבנו הזקן בכמה מקומות, וראה במיוחד באגרת התשובה סוף פרק ג' ובאגרת הקדש סוף סי' יו"ד, והאריכות בדבר המובן לדכוותי' בדואי אך למותר.
מוסג"פ מה שהו"ל לאחרונה ובודאי יזכה בתוכנו גם את הרבים וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter sent the day after the yahrzeit of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory, leader of Israel. At an auspicious time, I will again mention you and your entire family at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, for all that you need as you wrote.
Regarding what you write about distributing funds after one hundred and twenty years: It is already known from my father-in-law, the Rebbe's many talks that reason does not approve such arrangements. Why should any good deed be delayed for so many decades? May Hashem grant everyone long life and years in abundance, but it is possible to do this good deed oneself while alive in this world—and through this, even more longevity is added, as is well known regarding the virtue and benefit of charity.
Even though it is known that one should not give more than a fifth of one's wealth to charity during one's lifetime (unlike after passing), not only can one give up to a fifth according to all opinions, but there are also several situations where it is permitted—and even a great mitzvah and obligation—to give more than a fifth. These details are brought in later authorities and some are also found in Iggeres HaKodesh by Rabbeinu HaZaken in several places; see especially Iggeres HaTeshuvah end of chapter 3 and Iggeres HaKodesh end of section 10. The lengthy discussion is surely understood by you and need not be elaborated here.
