I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the bright day of the 19th of Kislev, the festival of our redemption and the liberation of our souls through the redemption and liberation of our master the Alter Rebbe. I also received your other correspondence which you sent—thank you for your attention.
Regarding your comments about the Ari's version and the Alter Rebbe's version in which "u'Morid HaGeshem" is said with two segol vowels, as well as the custom for Shabbat with a kuf—see Shaar HaKolel on the Siddur by my revered grandfather Rabbi Avraham David Lavut. Enclosed is what was recently published; certainly you will share its content with many, for the merit of the public depends on you.
The gimmel in "geshem" being a segol is also mentioned in Sefer Meorei Or, Zikaron Yehuda (cited in Likutei Mahari"ch), Darkei Chaim v'Shalom (by Hagaon etc. from Munkatch), and others.
